About Us

Hello!

Just a little information about me.  I was raised in Norman and went to Norman Public Schools. As a young child I even went to Jackson Elementary! I also went to Alcott when it was known as West Jr. High.  I did live in Tulsa, OK for around 17 years, and then came back to Norman to earn my Elementary Education degree at UCO. My first year teaching was 13 years ago when Alcott Middle School began.  I have taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade science and have loved every minute of it!

I have one daughter who has now graduated college and is an Accountant.  She and I both love animals.  We have several dogs and cats at home (many are "rescued" animals).  I'd love to hear your "pet" stories too!  In the classroom we usually have a pet hamster that the students name. This year our hamster's name is Fuzz Ball! 

My hobbies are walking my dogs, taking nature walks, reading a good book, and many other things.  In the Spring we will take an exciting field trip to the Little River Zoo. We will take a guided tour of the facility and learn interesting facts about many of the displaced animals found there.  We will also make scientific observations of the zoo's 60 acre wilderness area!

In closing, I would like to tell you how excited I am to be your teacher! You are very important to me! Remember - I'm here if you ever need help, my door is always open!  I'm looking forward to an exciting year in Science!
